About Us

OUR HOUSE

Our house (below) is situated on a little over two acres overlooking Palisades Lake (really a reservoir) in Idaho, but on the border with Wyoming.  Our mailing address is in Wyoming because the Wyoming post office is 5 minutes away whereas the Idaho post office is 25 miles away.  If a picture speaks a thousand words, there is probably no reason to go on about our winters (see below).  But, we do have some pretty looooong, cooooold  winter seasons, sometimes extending from October through May.  And the snow — fugedaboudit!

The Havanese is not our first breed.  Thirty plus years ago we started out with a lovely Pom named Muffie; then we  had a very cute English Bulldog named Gossamer Waump, whom we called Gussie, and a wonderful mixed breed collie-type, named Nevada.  In Colorado, circumstances led to Pattie finding the Newfoundland breed that she is still so passionate about today, though  she no longer shows nor breeds them. See the Z’Ourgang Newfs page for more about that special time in our lives that led to showing, breeding and winning Championships, Group Placements and even a Best in Show.  Our last Newf, Jazz ,(see him on his own page), has a very large indoor-outdoor kennel, about 10 by 25.  Still, he is creature of comfort and spends much of his time indoors at our feet by the fire. Jazz and RICO and ChaCha—Wow!

Now we begin a new doggie chapter in our lives with Havanese.  We will conscientiously breed them eventually, but first must prove ourselves in the show ring.  Watch with us as we grow.  Here we go!
